Designing and Developing a Smart Tray Prototype to Promote Sustainable Habits in Children

Ideation, prototyping and evaluation of a smart tray to encourage sustainable food choices among children, a rewarding learning experience applying our Human-Computer Interaction knowledge.

As part of the interactive technology innovation course, my group and I ideated, prototyped, and evaluated a smart tray prototype. We developed a high-fidelity prototype that incorporated smileys, text displays, and a streak system to encourage sustainable food choices among children. Our study revealed positive reception from parents, with suggestions for age-inclusive design and more detailed feedback. It was a rewarding learning experience that allowed us to apply our knowledge of Human-Computer Interaction to create a promising tool for promoting sustainability.
